NFL coaching requests, appointments: Full list of teams and names being put forward

Black Monday in the NFL, the day after the final game of the regular season, is typically firing day. The New England Patriots didn’t wait and sacked Jarrod Mayo on Sunday. And while there were still some firings in Black Monday 2025 (including the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Doug Pederson and several coordinators around the league), the Chicago Bears, New York Jets and New Orleans Saints fired their head coaches at the beginning of the season and they Have already done your homework.

This turned Black Monday into a day of interview requests. Not just any, but a massive flood that threatened to drown anyone who tried to remain afloat. And that flood didn’t even include requests from the Las Vegas Raiders, who waited until Tuesday to fire head coach Anthony Pierce. Soon they will be making many of the same requests as other teams.

But Yahoo Sports is here for you. Below you can find a list of which teams have requested interviews with which coaches and coordinators, and when those interviews will reportedly take place. The lists will be updated as new information becomes available.

jet 14 people will reportedly be interviewed for their head coach position, including currently serving coordinators/coaches and several former head coaches who are not actively coaching for an NFL team.

  • Matt Nagy, Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator and former Bears head coach

  • Brian Flores, Vikings defensive coordinator and former Miami Dolphins head coach

  • Josh McCown, Vikings QB coach

  • Arthur Smith, offensive coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers and former head coach of the Atlanta Falcons

  • Mike Vrabel, former head coach of the Tennessee Titans

  • Ron Rivera, former Carolina Panthers and Washington Commanders head coach

  • Rex Ryan, former Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach

  • Brian Griese, San Francisco 49ers QB coach

  • Vance Joseph, Denver Broncos defensive coordinator

  • Bobby Slovic, offensive coordinator of the Houston Texans

  • Joe Brady, Bills offensive coordinator

  • Jeff Ulbrich, Jets interim head coach

  • Darren Rizzi, Saints interim head coach

Bear Of the 12 people reportedly interviewed for the job, Matt Eberflus was fired midway through the 2024 season.

raiders fired its head coach on Tuesday, and has yet to field any interview requests.

Some interview dates have been reported, while other teams have not yet given their permission to potential candidates to interview for another job. There is likely to be a second and possibly even a third round of interviews for candidates who impress different teams.
