The NFL regular season has ended, but that means a lot of teams are officially beginning their offseason. And many of those struggling are starting with massive changes at the top, especially at the head coach position. The New England Patriots got the ball rolling on Sunday by firing first-year coach Jerrod Mayo, shortly after the Pats ended their 2024 campaign with a 4-13 record.
The Jaguars wasted little time Monday morning by firing Doug Pederson but retaining GM Trent Baalke.
Other clubs got a head start on the rebuild, with the Chicago Bears firing Matt Eberflus earlier this season, the New Orleans Saints firing Dennis Allen and the New York Jets firing Robert Saleh. Each of those franchises has since been linked to notable candidates, including former head coaches such as Mike Vrabel and Ron Rivera.
